J-E-L-L-O and M-O-R-E

You can tell I had waaaaay too much time on my hands the Monday I was in Seoul to visit the US Embassy! After my appointment, I went to the train station, got my ticket and ate lunch, while I was hanging out for a movie to start. VERY NICE of the train station to have a "vertical" mall, complete with grocery store and a theater for my waiting-for-the-train pleasure!
I hit the salad bar at the mall's Pizza Hut for lime J-e-l-l-o WITH pears and 2 of my Korean favorites: pumpkin "salad" and sweet potato "salad." I have no other way to characterize them but "salads." So cold, sweet and fattening, I assume.

In between bites, I took pictures of my new cell phone, called "hand phones" here, as I think mentioned a little while ago. This picture, of my phone "open" or slid up, also shows off my special red case, encrusted with "diamonds."

Notice that little black "thing" on the side? It's connected to the phone and is, what was described to me, a "mobile" charger/adaptor/ unit. In other words, if you are away from home and your battery is low, you can "re-charge" using anyone's charger via this "thing." In other words, "hell if I know", except when I'm home, I separate the top from the bottom and "plug" one end in to the opposite side of your phone and then plug the charger into that. WHAT????? More like "whatever." It works, but that's all I know. The whole think seems to be much more complicated than it needs to be.

That other "thing" is a red dog with 2 yellow eyes I got in Insadong. What's worse, I don't know what that "thing" is called either. (I know you are thinking that its rude of me to show this picture when I can't even tell you what you're seeing.) Anyway, this dog-item is a cute little "deal" (lol) that is an example of what seems to be thousands of cute "attachments" that are for sale all over here. They are "hooked" on hand phones and seem to reveal the personalities of the owners. When I got this dog, I also got a cute cat and several others. Finding these is really addictive, especially the unusual ones, which seems to be all of them to me.

And, last....this is a cool (I can say that now that I know how to use them.) bank of lockers at the station. To the left of the keypad is a crazy, but helpful, sign telling how to use the secure lockers. On this one, you do all the paying/opening/closing/locking from the keypad AND you have to give your fingerprint to add extra security. I'm getting faster with these lockers. E-Mart has the put-the-coin-in-the-slot type with are easier and faster, but I love this one! OH, and unlike the E-Mart version, you don't get your $$ back. That's cool. I would pay more for the fun of figuring it out!

Hello, Joanie~
Nice to see you in a cyber world.
I'm Korean and live in Jeonju.
I think your blog is cool and interesting!! I've already read almost of your posts~ ^^
Anyway,
the little thing like your dog is just a cell-phone accessory. As you said, it usually express one's individuality and taste.
