My Kimski

This link will take you to a Phoenix TV station and the story of one of my closest friends, Kim, her husband, Art, and the two little girls they are in the process of adopting through the State of Arizona's Foster Care system.

I can't begin to do this family's story justice, as over the last several years, there has been happy times for Art and Kim, but horrible heartbreak as well.

Here's the bottom line: They signed up with the foster care system thinking that eventually a child that they cared for might be given up for adoption. Because of the lack of families participating in the Arizona Foster Care system, Art and Kim at one time had multiple children from the same family, who were eventually returned to their mother, hence the heartbreak.

But, at almost the same time, they began caring for an infant, who, God-willing will become their daughter, along with another little girl that became available for adoption over the last few months. If you don't think there's "a Universe" out there, check again. Every ounce of energy from myself and hundreds of others have gone to Kim and Art to make these two little girls come to their lives.

Today, I know it is very common for families to adopt from overseas (more about Korea on that one at a later time.) but if you are in Arizona, or any place with such a Foster Care system, please pass this posting on to others and consider opening your lives to the gifts that these kids can bring.
PS......Not the most serious picture I have of Kimski (my nickname for her), but when I think of her, this kind of setting comes to mind. We were at a scrapbook convention....year? It all blurs!!
