Movie, Lunch, Hot Tix, iPods, Hair Dryers, HUGE Day

This is the Korean poster version for the movie, "Jumper." Just came out here, so after a morning appointment, I met Sheila at Megabox. It was the first time in my movie watching history, in Jeonju, that a theater was almost full. I heard about "Jumper" from an adult student about a month ago. Evidently, I was the only person in Korea to have not gotten the word that this would be a popular one. Special effects were great, as this unsuspecting guy finds that is able to "teleport" (check that spelling) himself, first at the age of five (according to his mother), and then as the movie starts, in high school. When he figures out what's going on, just like the rest of us would do, he "teleports" himself right into a bank vault for some cash, and the rest is movie history. I will leave the movie reviews to my friend, Tom, at http://Koreanfilm.org/Tom . (Poster from Tom's site.)

Sheila and I had lunch at a new (to me) Italian restaurant in Geksa again. WHEN will I ever learn that I can't drink a Cafe Mocha ANYTIME without feeling like I'm on drugs (or able to withstand a 5PM Saturday visit to Emart)? We parted at Hot Tix (after I ran into 2 students and later a third), and I looked at iPods.

I had to see the "Touch" in person, and they had one. 16GB (is that right?) for W343,000. Ok....had to ask myself if I needed that. Do I need that? Much cheaper on eBay and I was thinking more like 8GB. Do I need that?

I took my "need" for a "big ticket item" to EMart and found they had no "Touch" iPods, but had the price stickers to prove they did at one time. GREAT customer service there! Very nice young man told me to check out Home Plus or Home Ever. I asked to see the Samsung version of "Touch" but I'm not sure that's what I saw. If my math was right (this is where it gets sketchy) the Samsung was bigger bucks for fewer GBs. So, I gave up and bought an equally (almost) expensive hairdryer to get "it" out of my system.

Weather: Sunny and Pleasant, but 34 degrees.
Health: Three day cold is gone.
Spirits: Never higher.
Requests: Keep those cards and letters coming.
PS: CGV TV is paying tribute to Heath Ledger tonight, showing "Brokeback Mountian."
Question: Does the closing quotation mark go inside or outside the period?
Answer: Inside

quotes go after punctuation
love your upbeat positive blog and very interesting to read about the Canadian that was there in the 90's. It's a vastly different Korea now but still a bit same same
