Lunar New Year's Eve, 2008

Had a great day on Wednesday, with my pal, Sheila (shown here), who agreed to pose with the Lunar New Year's gift I received from my employer. Sheila's from Victoria, BC Canada, and has been a great friend to me. She teaches in Jeonju as well, but is on her way back home in May. Our love of books and traveling, among other things, keeps us talking.

On September 21 I wrote about and on November 21, showed a similar gift that I received at Chuseok, the Korean Thanksgiving. This gift is equally great, but this time, the box included 2 cans of Alaska salmon and 6 cans of Spam.

Sheila and I saw "Charlie Wilson's War", and had a really nice lunch at this Italian restaurant. Doesn't look like what you would expect to see in Korea does it? Found it by accident a few weeks ago, in Geksa, behind Kyobo Book Store.
