South Korean White New Year's

Can't believe that I haven't updated since the beginning of the month! Thanks for hanging in there with me. South Korea has officially been my country of residence for SIX months, as of last Sunday, December 23. I had to use two vacation days in order to be paid for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, but I needed 2 long weekends, so it worked out fine.

"Rules" seem to have a way of coming upon me after the fact, but I am adapting to spur of the moment, last minutes changes, as in being informed about the vacation days. I am still trying to figure out if it is a way of life here, or my school. I am chalking it up to living as best I can and making the best of this wonderful experience. The "good stuff" continues to outweigh the "not so good stuff".

As you can see from this picture, we had our first snow over night. The flakes were big and wet, so the road snow melted pretty quickly. It was overcast all day, but this view from my porch was fun to see.

Plan to spend my birthday, after an appointment, downtown with a fellow American teacher, whose school is about a half-hour away. We are having lunch and hoping to see the new Dustin Hoffman children's movie. Something light-hearted. Keep those cards and letters coming!
