It was raining from the time I got up at 6 AM until I got home, after 9:30 PM. I kept thinking how it was amazing that everyone in this country didn't have pneumonia, as I walked around with squishy sandals all day.
This first picture was taken at, yes, a TGIFridays, I found across from Lotte. I needed someplace warm to get out of the rain and this was it. This young university student kept me company in the bar, as I watched the "Giants" and "Baystars" play baseball. Both are Korean pro teams who had Americans playing for them. The Giants had a guy named Powell pitching yesterday. I will have to check out the Internet for the story on this guy. He was pretty good.
Anyway, if you look closely, there is the normal "Friday's stuff" all over, including a President Clinton statue and beside him to his right, is President Bush I. BUT, the best are the golf shoes you can see on the lower left corner of the TV. Those shoes are signed by KJ Choi, Korean golfer, now playing on the PGA tour. The pronunciation in Korean is "Chuay". This second picture is of the little stands outside most major stores that have plastic bags for umbrellas. Everyone is to insert their umbrellas and then pull up so that when you bring your umbrella into the store, it doesn't drip all over. Maybe they have these in big cities in the US, but living in Phoenix didn't afford much worry about dripping umbrellas. I had to take this picture...I am such a tourist (still)!!
