Our Meli and "Harry"

Wanted to pass along these two great pictures of Melina Robovic, a fellow "Harry" lover. First picture is of Meli standing outside a bookstore in Zagreb, capital of Croatia, just after 12 AM, the day (night) the book was released. And the second is of her, in Malinka, on the Island of Krk, in the North Adriatic Sea.
Meli's mom and my dear friend and former IRC colleague, Visnja, sent these pictures along during their month-long trip to Germany, Croatia, Bosnia and other places in that part of the world.

My weekend has been great! I was finally able to get together with Donna Strickland, my new US friend here. (See entry from July 21) I was craving Italian food and Donna knew a great place for lunch. It was definitely a mix of Italian and spicy Korean food, as Donna had her favorite dish of a Kimchee Pasta and I had a simple pasta and meat dish. Food was great, but the best for me was the mushroom soup with a flaky crust covering the bowl. Diners are suppose to break the crust and dip it into the soup. Out of this world!!

After lunch, Donna and I went to her apartment so that she could help me learn how she is able to download movies off the Internet and I met her cat, who is a beautiful grey/black Persian. Later, we walked together to E-Mart to closely examine a stove Donna has on her Wish List, and I stayed to shop for the week.

Despite the vacation time, I still met my high school student, who has decided to declare her major to be Psychology. We did lots of brainstorming about the specific area of study she wants to pursue, as over the next few weeks, she will be writing the essay portion of her application. She will have no problem getting into the University of Seoul, as she has been first in her class for the last three years and has done very well on all the English oral and written exams she has taken.

My day today, Sunday, has been really lazy, but productive. It rained a lot yesterday, as well as today. Thanks again, as always, for letting me hear from you! It means so much to be in touch! Have a good week!
