"Poultry In Motion"-Ada County Fair

Every time I put pictures on this blog, I wish I had the knack of my friend, Betsy. She has "something' that most people know as "Photo Shop" that lets her create more variety in her picture sizes, locations, "frames", etc.

Given that I don't know a thing about that stuff, I'll just include these pictures of my trip to the Ada County (my county) Fair. I was really excited because I had heard about all the fun, but gross food that one can find at a state fair.

Here's the first sign I saw that only hinted at the food I had heard and read about. You can see the "Deep Fried" theme. This genre was of the sweet variety, but I was looking for deep fried pickles, Slim Jims, etc, etc. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything close to that.

If you've looked at this blog in the past, the second picture won't surprise you, as I've posed for several ridiculous pictures in the past. Yep! That's me as an ear of corn, if you didn't notice that. You all know I'm from Kansas, so how could I NOT have my picture taken, given the opportunity?

And that last picture is from one of the indoor exhibits. The theme for this year's fair was "Poultry In Motion", as you can see by the chicken sitting in this basket with jars of what I think must be home-made jelly....blue ribbon/Best of Show and all!
