Let's Do What They Do

I have to say that since being in South Korea, I have figured out many things that it wouldn't hurt the United States to consider adopting. Further down my blog, I have shown you the gargle dispenser and the cool hand dryer. Here are a few more:

The blue "wrapping" on this building, close to my house, is a great example of how to make a building under renovation look really presentable. It takes a construction eye-sore and turn it into a big blue box. I have since wondered if the blue fabric (made of I-don't know-what) is to keep debris from falling out, to hide what's really going on in there, or to keep workers warm or cool, depending on the season. WHATEVER it is, it was interesting to see!

The gentleman in the next picture gave me the skeptical look like he wasn't sure if I wanted to take his picture or the giant potato (what does Arby's call that? A Curly Fry?). A few weeks ago, I saw people carrying these potatoes on a stick, walking around downtown, munching away. I felt kind of like you do at a fair when you see people eating something unusual and you think "where did they get those?" Later, I ran across this guy with his simple cooker, and a long line of customers!

I went back today to take the picture to him, but someone else was running the stand. They told me that he was the owner, and they would send him the photo.

What else should the US adopt from Korea? I have tons more ideas, but think about this one: Only one term for the President of Korea, of five years. Oh, and the length of official Presidential campaigning? Less than three months.
