Charlie and Mr. Bean

This is a great picture of two of my students from 11 AM (Charlie on the left and "Mr. Bean" on the right). I had left class and was across the street from the school when I noticed the small dog, belonging to one of the shop owners next to the school, running away from her. I saw the shop lady helplessly standing outside her store, as the dog ran behind Charlie and Mr. Bean and up the street.

What a terrible thing! I tried to get the students' attention and finally, Mr. Bean looked over. I pointed to the dog and yelled across the traffic to please try and catch the dog. Boy, did he start running, just like the recently released from the military guy that he is!

Fortunately, the dog had stopped to smell the bottom of a traffic light and as Bean started to approach him, the dog started barking and then ran back down the street, the right way! It was something to see. This picture is the final result of the dog-chase. A "V" for victory sign from both guys.

My weekend is starting to shape up. Movies and Donna, my new US friend, and I are going over to a young woman's house who will be moving away from Jeonju in the middle of August. Donna wants her oven and I want her scales. Just like most people who move here to teach, when they leave, they basically take nothing back to the States with them. It's a great deal for newcomers. Hope your week is going well! Keep those cards and letters coming!
